Pro-Ethics Program (CGU)
Created by the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) in partnership with the Ethos Institute, the Pro-Ethics programme aims to encourage companies to adopt the policies and actions necessary to create an environment of integrity that reduces the risks of fraud and corruption.
The decision to participate in the initiative reinforces Copel’s commitment to promoting a culture of integrity within the company and provides an external assessment of the integrity mechanisms established by the Company. The evaluation report presents a detailed analysis of the measures adopted by Copel and is an important document for monitoring the effectiveness of the Integrity Programme.
It is the second consecutive cycle that Copel appears on this list, which demonstrates the company’s increasing commitment to preventing and fighting corruption.
Regulation of the Pro-Ethics Program
2020-2021 Edition
According to the Minister of CGU, Wagner Rosário, the number of approved companies has practically tripled compared to the previous edition of the Programme, and this jump represents an important growth and maturation of companies and a recognised development of integrity in the country.
Participation in the initiative is voluntary and carried out by completing evaluation questionnaires. In the 2020-2021 edition, 327 companies of all sizes and from various branches of activity requested access to the programme, of which 195 were admitted and, after the evaluation process, 67 companies were approved and recognised as a Pro-Ethics Company 2020-2021.
2018-2019 Edition
The 2018-2019 edition of Pró-Ética had the participation of 373 companies of all sizes and from various branches of activity. Of these, 222 sent the evaluation questionnaire duly completed and within the stipulated deadline. After the evaluation process, 26 companies were approved and recognized as Pro-Ethics Company 2018-2019.
The result of Copel’s efforts was evidenced by the receipt of the 2018-2019 Pro-Ethics Seal. With this, the Company became part of a select group of companies in the country with public recognition of the commitment to preventing and combating corruption.
