Plant Suppression Monitoring Program

For the implementation and operation of some of Copel’s projects, vegetation suppression is necessary. In order to ensure that the suppression occurs with the greatest possible mitigation, in accordance with the requirements of the environmental licensing process and that it remains restricted to authorized areas, the Plant Suppression Monitoring Program is executed.

This Program aims to monitor vegetation suppression activities from the conception of the projects, when the areas are analyzed and dimensioned and the Forest Inventory is prepared, passing through the execution of the suppression itself until reaching the management of the process of use of the generated woody material.

The program’s activities contribute to the minimization of negative environmental impacts to the physical, social and biotic environments, as well as to the control of risks related to occupational safety and the surrounding population.
