Combating the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents

Copel recognizes the importance of May 18, National Day to Combat Abuse and Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents. The company is a partner in disclosing information on how to report cases (dial 100 or 190) and the actions taken by municipalities and entities such as Unicef (United Nations Childhood Fund), which are organized to conduct campaigns and awareness for the prevention of this very serious form of violence.

Copel’s concern extends to its supply chain by stating in the suppliers’ manual the determination of “not allowing the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in the area of influence of the company.” The company’s support is based on its mission, its values, their commitments to human rights and the global pact.

The date was instituted by federal law (9970/2000), for awareness of the importance and the need to face sexual violence against children and adolescents, at all levels and broadly in society.
