The main objective of the Noise Monitoring Program is to record the compliance of projects with legal requirements for sound pressure levels and to identify situations in which the sound pressure levels (noise levels) generated by the operation of projects exceed the legally permissible limits, ensuring that the Conditions of the Operating Licenses of Copel GeT Projects are met.
The main benefits of the Noise Monitoring Program are to verify and ensure acoustic comfort for the communities surrounding Copel projects, and to mitigate any negative impacts, seeking the well-being of society.
The Program is based on carrying out sound pressure level monitoring campaigns in compliance with the requirements of Conama Resolution No. 001/1990, following the methodology established by ABNT NBR 10151/2019, as well as requirements of state and municipal legislation. The campaigns are carried out according to the frequency required in the environmental licensing, or whenever there are reports of complaints from the community, based on which reports are issued on the results of the measurements and definition of any measures to be adopted, to maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
