Copel GeT’s power generation and transmission projects may be located in areas where protected cultural assets — including archaeological, historical, landscape, tangible, and intangible heritage — may be present or are likely to be found. To assess, prevent, and manage potential impacts on these assets within the projects’ areas of influence, the Cultural Heritage Management Program is implemented in compliance with applicable legislation, environmental licensing requirements, and the guidelines of the agencies responsible for protecting cultural heritage.
This Program includes the mapping and assessment of protected cultural assets, monitoring of cultural licensing processes with IPHAN and other competent agencies, the organization of databases and documentation from the studies conducted, as well as heritage education initiatives aimed at the workforce, third parties, property owners, and local communities. These activities contribute to the projects’ legal compliance, the preservation of historical and cultural memory, the dissemination of knowledge generated by research, and the strengthening of the Company’s relationship with society and the regions where it operates.
