Copel GeT’s power generation and transmission projects interact with various ecosystems and may affect wildlife, flora, water resources, protected areas, and associated ecosystem services. To organize and improve the management of this information and these actions, the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Program is implemented, focusing on biodiversity conservation, the consolidation of data generated by the Company’s environmental programs, and the identification of risks and opportunities related to ecosystem services.
This Program includes the compilation and analysis of information on fauna, flora, protected areas, restored areas, and environmental offsets, as well as updating the Biodiversity Portal, monitoring threatened or endemic species, and integrating this topic into sustainability reports and platforms. These initiatives contribute to the conservation of biological diversity, the improvement of environmental management at the Company’s projects, the generation of knowledge about biodiversity in the regions where Copel GeT operates, and the strengthening of the Company’s sustainability efforts.
